It’s not been 1 month of the launch of the OnePlus 7T series, and we started to see leaks of its successor. Usually, we start to get rumours and leaks of the upcoming OnePlus smartphone after 2-3 months of the latest launch. But seems like this time we are getting leaks some days after the launch. Few weeks before we saw the first leak of OnePlus 8 revealing the design and few specs. Now today we have the first leak of OnePlus 8 Pro. So without further ado, let’s have a first look at OnePlus 8 Pro leak.
Design:
Starting off with the design, the very first you will notice is a punch-hole selfie camera on the display. Yes, according to this leak OnePlus 8 Pro will go down from the full screen to punch-hole screen. And I personally feel this is a serious downgrade from OnePlus 7T Pro. Because this punch-hole will ruin the full-screen experience which we are experiencing on OnePlus 7 Pro/7T Pro. Apart from this, the front doesn’t have any difference because it’s almost full screen. Sides have a curve and top/bottom has very thin chins.

Moving to the back, this time also there’s matte finish on glass. Here we can see Grey colour on the back. Regarding the camera, OnePlus moved to Quad Camera setup with OnePlus 8 Pro. The laser autofocus is present from OnePlus 7T Pro as well. Apart from this, LED light, OnePlus logo and branding are also present at centre and bottom, respectively. On the right side, we can see an Alert Slider and the power button. The left side has volume rockers. At the bottom, there’s speaker grill, Type-C port, and main mic. The top only has the secondary mic, as the pop-up camera is not present this time.
Specifications:
Now talking about specs of OnePlus 8 Pro, the first thing are already told in the design section that there will be Quad Camera setup. The first three are Primary/Wide Angle/Telephoto lenses as before, so the fourth one will be 3D ToF sensor for AR and other 3D usage. The display size will be 6.65 inch, slightly bigger than OnePlus 8 and very slightly smaller than OnePlus 7T Pro. The 90hz fluid display will be present as well.

The source suggests Snapdragon 855+ chipset in OnePlus 8 Pro and the expected release date of January 2020. And I don’t think both of them are correct. Because OnePlus don’t launch their non-T series in the first quarter, and Snapdragon 855+ is already in the current OnePlus 7T series. Other specs like Quad HD+ resolution, 24MP front camera, and 4,500 mAh battery seems true, but they are sort of predictable.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Personally I think this leak is not legit, because there are many weird things mentioned like punch-hole camera, Snapdragon 855+ chipset, and January launch. But as this leak is by OnLeaks, we just can’t ignore this one. So keep this leak with a pinch of salt but don’t completely ignore it as well.
