OnePlus is all set to up their game in the camera department hints a new Camera APK breakdown. The closeup of the app reveals interesting new features which are expected to come to new generation OnePlus smartphones coming in the next months.
The 6.4.2.3 version of the APK was discovered in the OxygenOS Open Beta released for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series by the tinkerers at XDA Developers. Let us check out the new features one by one below.
Tilt-shift mode
Tilt-shift mode is a feature that might allow the lens to shift its position with respect to the image sensor. The lens and sensor in a typical smartphone are parallel to one another on the same plane. By “tilting” or “shifting” the lens the camera can capture miniature images in a different angle of planes. This feature as the description says might be hardware dependant and hence might not make it to existing models. Here is a glimpse of how this will work :
Starburst
Like the name suggests this mode will capture the star-filled night sky with long exposure. Like the modern flagships, this mode will keep the camera shutter open for a longer period of time and help capture the scenery in never before detail. It is interesting to see how OnePlus will counter the shakes that might be caused due to the handheld nature of the shots. Either the company will ask the users to use tripods for a steady feed or stabilise the camera electronically with a touch of software magic.
Moon mode
Chances are you might have seen the moon captures by Huawei P-Series flagships or Samsung flagships. Similarly, future OnePlus phones might capture the moon with jaw-dropping levels of digital zoom. In addition, the camera app will also allow you to use filters to change the colour tone of the moon.
Hyperlapse
A dedicated Hperlapse mode coming to OnePlus smartphones will let you capture a scenery for a long period of time and speed it up to create a literal time lapse. This trend became popular thanks to social media buffs. The company did not include this feature in the stock camera and users were forced to download third-party camera applications to do the trick. This might soon change with the upcoming smartphones and could even reach existing models as well
As of now, these are the main features coming to OnePlus smartphones. We expect these features to debut with the upcoming OnePlus 9 Series smartphones. Regarding the older models, only time and the company itself can reveal whether all or some of the new features will be ported to them via software updates.
