After all the leaks, rumours, and teasers, the Chinese smartphone brand Oppo finally launches its latest flagship smartphone called Oppo Find X at an event in Paris. One of the highlights of the device is the motorized camera slider with pops-in and out automatically (similar to the recently launched Vivo Nex). Design
Let’s start with the designing setup of the device, the device comes with the shiny metal back and it has curved edges. The device has a bezel-less design at the front with a small chin.
Specification
The Oppo Find X sports 6.42 inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 19:5:9 aspect ratio, and it has 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution, the display is also protected with Gorilla Glass 5. Moreover, the device has 93.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, which is the biggest in the smartphone and it beats Vivo Nex which came with 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, and with this, the ditched the notch (thanks to the almighty).
The smartphone is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 845 processor and paired with 8 GB of RAM along with Adreno 630 GPU for the graphical task. In terms of storage, the device has 256 GB of internal storage and there is no option to expand the storage via MicroSD card.
Moving to the photography department, the device sports camera slider with the combination of dual camera setup at the back. With the camera slider, the company avoids camera module, and users need to swipe up the slider to pop-up the camera. The device consists 16 megapixel (f/2.0 aperture) + 20 megapixel (f/2.2 aperture) with AI Portrait, AI Scene Recognition, OIS, and LED flash. The device also has a 25 megapixel front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, and the AI-enhanced 3D Camera is equipped with a 3D lighting techniques and filters for artistic portraits. Having said that, the company claims to have been tested over 300,000 times for camera slider durability.
For security options, the device is coming with the 3D facial scanning technology which is the main method of unlocking the device, as it does not come with the fingerprint scanner. The company calls the technology as O-Face Recognition and claims that it is 20 times safer than a fingerprint scanner. Moreover, when you swipe up the lock screen of the device to unlock, the camera will automatically pop-up to scan your face.
Talking about the connectivity options, the device has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, USB Type-C port and GPS. The smartphone runs on the latest Android Oreo 8.1 which is based on ColorOS 5.1, and the whole device is backed on 3,730 mAh battery with VOOC fast charging. Speaking about the colour choices, the device will be available in Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue.
Pricing and availability
- The smartphone is priced at EUR 999 (approx. ₹79,000).
- The device will be made available in August.
