The Chinese smartphone maker, Oppo has launched the new Oppo Reno5 Pro+ 5G that was teased during the launch of the Reno5 Series smartphones. The smartphone comes with a new Sony sensor powering the camera, Snapdragon 8-Series mobile platform and fast charging capabilities. Specifications of Oppo Reno5 Pro+ 5G
It features a 6.55-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with curves on both sides. The display panel gets a refresh rate with 90 Hz along with 180Hz touch sampling rate and HDR10+ rating. It has a single punch hole for the selfie camera. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Coming to the optics, Oppo Reno5 Pro+ has a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and support of OIS. Its followed by a 16MP ultrawide angle Sony IMX481 Sensor that has an aperture of f/2.2. The third camera in the lot is a 13MP telephoto sensor capable of 5x hybrid zoom and finally, we have a 2MP depth sensor. The smartphone comes with a 32MP front camera from Sony as well. The smartphone comes with DOL-HDR (digital overlay dynamic range technology) which improves the dynamic range quality of both videos and photos. It features a 4,500 mAh battery and weighs 184 grams.
The phone comes equipped with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging technology and top-ups the battery in under 40 minutes. Regarding the connectivity options, the smartphones support Wi-Fi 6, 5G in both SA and NSA flavour, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11 on top.
Oppo has also launched an Artist Limited Edition of the Reno5 Pro+ 5G in collaboration with the American designer, Joshua Vides who calls the design “unimagined”. It comes with an electrochromic technology that changes the colour on the rear when the user double taps on it. This technology is called colour-changing fantasy by the company.
Pricing and Availability
The Oppo Reno5 Pro+ 5G pricing starts at 3,999 CNY (~612 USD) for the 8+128GB configuration. For the maxed-out version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage or the Limited Edition, you will have to shell out 4,499 CNY (~690 USD). The pre-orders in China will kick off from 18 January and the device will be available for purchase four days later.
