The Japanese electronics giant Sony has updated that the company is increasing the pricing of the PlayStation gaming consoles. The new price is currently not affected in India but it can be changed anytime. So let’s get into the article to check out the new piece of information.
Sony has announced to increase the pricing of PlayStation 5 series along with PlayStation Portal. The company has said that the new economic scenario has made the decision. The new pricing will be applicable from April 2 and the company announced the price hike in selected markets at the moment of time.
In the US, the standard PlayStation 5 will now be priced at $649.99 while the Digital Edition will cost $599.99 and the PlayStation 5 Pro will be available at $899.99. The company has also increased the price of the PlayStation Portal remote player and it will now cost $249.99.
Sony has also increased the pricing in the United Kingdom and the PlayStation 5 will cost GBP 569.99 while the Digital Edition will be priced at GBP 519.99 and the Pro model will come with a price tag of GBP 789.99. The devices will be available at EUR 649.99, EUR 599.99, and EUR 899.99 respectively in the markets of Europe.
In Japan, the vanilla variant will be available at JPY 97,980, JPY 89,980 for the Digital Edition, and JPY 1,37,980 for the Pro variant. While the PlayStation Portal will be available at GBP 219.99 in the UK, EUR 249.99 in Europe, and JPY 39,980 in Japan.
