At the ongoing Snapdragon Tech Summit, Qualcomm has announced updatable GPU drivers for the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 and 765G processors. The company also revealed that the update for GPU drivers will available for all the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.
Well, the update for drivers is not a new thing for the desktop users as they get a regular update on the PC, and now you guys can able to do the same set up on your smartphones. Qualcomm said that users can update the GPU drivers through the Google Play Store just like any other application.
With the new setup, Qualcomm can offer a great experience to the mobile users as now they can able to bring patches along with improvements in the performance as well as can optimize according to the new games, and this will also help users to get things awesome without waiting for an update of the operating system. It is worth to mention that Qualcomm is the first one to take advantage of Android’s ability to update the elements of the operating system such as drivers.
Having said that, Qualcomm has provided permission to the device manufacturer to allow to roll out the driver update and that means users are not fully guaranteed to get the latest updates and we can expect that only flagship smartphones will get this functionality.
