Qualcomm gains 5G data speeds on X50 modem

Few hours back, we updated about the Snapdragon 636 processor. And now there is another news coming from Qualcomm, as the company has successfully completed its first test of X50 chipset. If you are unaware about the processor, then it’s the company’s 5G modem. Last year, the company has announced that they are working on a 5G modem and it was X50.

According to the company, the new modem has achieved “gigabit download speeds” using several 100MHz 5G carriers in the company’s San Diego laboratory. The company also announced a reference design phone with the X50, and it will help the manufacturer to design to work on future 5G.

Speaking about the availability, it is expected that the company will ship the modem by the half of 2019.
