Qualcomm have announced new LTE modem with faster network speeds, the company says it will give you download speed upto 1.2 Gbps. The company has announced the new product ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event.
The Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X20 LTE chipset, which is the 7th product from the company to support LTE network and the second which uses Gigabit LTE technology. According to Qualcomm, the new modem can give download speed upto 1.2 Gbps, and the new modem can give this kind of speed via the use of carrier aggregation. Which allows a device with the modem to access as many as 12 streams of data, and each of the streams will give speed upto 100 Mbps. Speaking about the upload speed with the new processor will not be as fast as its download speed but still pretty solid up to 150 Mbps.
It sounds great, right? But don’t be over excited because the new X20 LTE chipset is just in sampling stage and they are not expected to be powered in any handsets until mid-2018. Another point to be noted is that the current LTE network will likely not to handle the 1.2 Gbps speed. Anyways let’s wait for the launching of the new chipset and also we hope that it will be compatible with as many as devices.
