Back in last year, the popular mobile chipset maker Qualcomm unveiled Snapdragon 845 which powers flagship and powerful smartphones. Well, today the company has announced another chipset which is called Snapdragon 710 mobile platform and the new processor is for mid-range smartphones.
The company has done huge work on the new Snapdragon 710 processor, and it is coming with optimizations. And this processor will offer more powerful and premium features to the mid-range users. The new chipset is built on 10nm LPP technology featuring octa-core Kryo 360 CPU. The company promises that the new processor will give 2x performance improvement AI performance, it will also give up to 20% overall uplift in performance. Moreover, the processor also offers 25% faster web browsing and 15% fast app launch times.
The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 can sport Quad HD, WQXGA with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution and 4K. Speaking about the CPU, it has a total of eight cores and clocked at a maximum 2.2 GHz. Two Kryo 360 cores are high-performance built on the Cortex-A75 architecture and clocked at 2.2 GHz and the rest of the six Kryo 360 cores are power-efficient cores which are built on the Cortex-A55 architecture and clocked at 1.7 GHz. And the company adds a new GPU as well, Adreno 616 which consumes 40% less power for both the gaming and 4K HDR video playback, and 20% less power in video streaming. Moreover, the processor also supports upto 8 GB RAM.
Talking about photography, it is coming with a new 14-bit Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP which supports 32 megapixel (single) or 20 megapixel (dual) camera. Moreover, it is enhanced to capture images in low light, along with 4K video recording, image stabilization, real-time bokeh effects. Having said that, it is also enhanced for the Face Unlock with active depth sensing.
In terms of connectivity, it supports X15 LTE modem, USB 3.1, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, and GPS. The processor also optimized the audio department, as it supports 4W output, Qualcomm aptX, Qualcomm Aqstic. And it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4 fast charging.
Speaking about the availability, the chipset is now available for the Smartphone manufacturers and it is expected to power the smartphones by the second quarter of this year.
