The popular chipset maker Qualcomm has officially launched its latest and greatest flagship mobile processor called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the same will be powering the flagship phones of next year. The first ever smartphone series with the power of the new flagship processor will debut tomorrow in the name of the Xiaomi 14 series. The newly announced SoC comes with Generative AI features and the same supports a 25% improved GPU on the board compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor. The chipset also comes with the support for Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and it also features 240 FPS gaming support. Everything about Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC
The newly announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processor features the Qualcomm AI engine and the same offers an improved hexagon process which is said to be 98 percent faster and it is also said to be 40 percent more efficient. The latest flagship mobile processor also features generative AI capabilities and claims to be the world’s fastest stable diffusion for image generation.
Qualcomm has introduced the new processor on the 4nm processing technology along with the Qualcomm Kryo CPU that can provide up to 3.3 GHz at 30 percent faster and 20 percent more efficient rates. The CPU features five Performance cores, up to 3.2 GHz, and two Efficiency cores, up to 2.3 GHz.
The latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processor also comes with hardware-accelerated ray tracing with global illumination and the chipset promises 240 fps gaming on supported displays. It also comes with the Qualcomm Adreno GPU which is claimed to be 25 percent faster and more efficient than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Regarding the connectivity, the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 brings the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 System just like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, with support for Wi-Fi 7 802.11be, 802.11ax, 802.11ac, 802.11a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 5.4. The latest chip also supports the Snapdragon X75 5G Modem-RF System. It is also claimed to feature the world’s first 5G modem with an integrated AI tensor hardware accelerator. The mobile processor also supports 24-bit 96 kHz lossless music over Bluetooth, USB Version 3.1 Gen 2, USB Type-C, and UFS 4.0 storage.

Xiaomi 14 series will be the first to feature the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processor and the chipset maker has confirmed that the brands including ASUS, Honor, iQOO, MEIZU, NIO, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Redmi, RedMagic, Sony, Vivo, and ZTE will be adopting the new flagship processor soon.
