Finally the rumour mill of Realme 2 comes to an end, as the company has officially unveiled the device at an event in the national capital – New Delhi. The Realme 2 is the successor of the Realme 1, and the new device is coming with improvements but also have some downgrades. So, let’s dive into the article and check out what’s the Realme 2 is keeping for us.
Design of Realme 2
The smartphone has a polygonal pattern on the rear side and it looks like a diamond, the device is coming with an 88.8% screen-to-body ratio. The device also comes with the notch on the top of the display and the company claims that it will offer a better experience than other notched devices. The device will be available in three colour options – Diamond Black, Diamond Red, and Diamond Blue.
Specification of Realme 2
The smartphone brand has degraded the device in the display as well as the processor, as the Realme 1 sports Full HD+ display but the Realme 2 has HD+ and the company also used a low-end chipset. As the Realme 1 came with MediaTek Helio P60, which is an upper mid-range chipset. However, the new device is powered by a Snapdragon 450 and that is a low power processor than the predecessor.
The device has 3 and 4 GB RAM along with Adreno 506 GPU for the graphical task, and it sports 6.2 inch HD+ display with 1520 x 720 pixels resolution along with 19:9 aspect ratio. In terms of storage, the device has two variants – the 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB of internal storage and that can be expandable up to 256 GB via MicroSD card.
Moving to the camera department, the company now features a dual camera setup at the back and it is in the combination of 13 megapixel (f/2.2) + 2 megapixel (f/2.4) with Bokeh mode and LED flash, the device also has an 8 megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture. Moreover, the company now offers a fingerprint scanner on the second generation of the Realme smartphone.
Regarding the connectivity options, the device supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm headphone jack, micro USB, and GPS. The device runs on Android Oreo 8.1 and that is based on ColorOS 5.0, and the Realme 2 ships on 4,230 mAh battery to keep the lights on
Pricing and availability of Realme 2
Speaking about the pricing and availability, the 3 GB RAM variant is priced at ₹8,990 and the 4 GB RAM variant has the price tag of ₹10,990. Well, this makes the device cheapest notched display smartphone. The device will be available exclusively on Flipkart and it will go on sale from for September 4. Having said that, the Diamond Blue colour variant of the device will be available in the early days of October.
Personally speaking, it was expected that the company will do something great on the Realme 2 but it is not existing as the first generation Realme.
