Following a six month schedule, Realme has launched the new Realme 8 and 8 Pro in India. The event marked the global debut of the Realme 8 Series and these smartphones come with some of the same specifications as their predecessors. Realme has been using AMOLED display, Snapdragon 720G for three generations now. Both models are coming with a Quad rear camera setup and the smartphone also coming with fast charging capability. Specifications of Realme 8
It sports a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution along with a punch-hole at the top left corner of the screen and it also comes with a 60Hz refresh rate, and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. Other features include DC-like Dimming and eye protection mode. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G95 SoC, and it is coming with ARM Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. The smartphone is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM along with up to 128 GB of internal storage and which can be expandable via a microSD card.
Moving to the camera department, the latest Realme 8 rocks quad rear camera setup and that is in the combination of a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 primary sensor with an f/1.79 aperture, followed by an 8-megapixel 119-degree ultra-wide-angle lens that gives an aperture of f/2.25 along with a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 macro lens. On the front, the latest smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel selfie camera that has an f/2.45 lens. It packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W Dart Charge fast charging and the smartphone runs on Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 on top. It comes in Cyber Silver and Cuber Black colours.

It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, along with Adreno 618 GPU. The smartphone is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. In terms of storage, the smartphone coming with 128 GB of internal storage and that can be expandable via MicroSD card.
The Realme 8 Pro also features the quad rear camera setup which consists of a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 primary sensor with f/1.88 aperture that is capable of a digital zoom up to 3x, followed by an 8MP secondary sensor with an f/2.3 ultra-wide-angle lens, along with a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 macro lens. The front snapper is a 16-megapixel camera sensor with an aperture of f/2.45.
The smartphone also supports an in-display fingerprint scanner for added security. Regarding the connectivity options, the Realme 8 Pro supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS/ NavIC, 3.5mm headphone jack that offers Hi-Res Audio and a USB Type-C port. The Realme 8 Pro packs a 4,500 mAh battery and the same ships a 65W SuperDart Charging but supports only up to 50W SuperDart Charge fast charging technology, it runs on Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0. It weighs just 176 grams. It comes in Infinite Blue, Infinite Black and Illuminating Yellow Colours.
Pricing and availability
The new Realme 8 is priced at ₹14,999 for the 4GB + 128GB variant while the 6GB + 128GB storage variant costs ₹15,999 . It has a higher-end variant with an 8+128GB configuration that costs ₹16,999. Talking about the Pro variant, the pricing starts at ₹17,999 for the 6GB + 128GB storage variant, while its 8GB + 128GB storage variant comes with a price tag of ₹19,999. Coming to the availability details, the first sale of both smartphones will take place through Flipkart and Realme.com on March 25th.
