Redmi 6 Pro And Mi Pad 4 Unveiled

Just recently we got to know the launch date of Redmi 6 Pro and Mi Pad 4. Both devices were scheduled to launch today i.e. 25th June. And as expected Xiaomi has unveiled both these devices in China. Redmi 6 Pro is the budget to mid-range segment smartphone whereas Mi Pad 4 is a mid-range tablet. So let’s see what specs both these devices carry within.

Redmi 6 Pro:

This is the higher-end variant of recently launched Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones. It sports a 5.84 inch IPS LCD notched design display with 19:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ (1520×720) resolution. This device has Xiaomi’s all time favourite Snapdragon 625 octa core processor clocked at 2Ghz each along with Adreno 506 GPU. It has 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 32/64GB internal storage, along with MicroSd Card support. Talking about camera, this device has 12MP + 5MP dual rear camera setup with f2.2 lens, EIS, PDAF, LED flash, and AI portraits (as said by every OEM nowadays). The front camera is a 8MP shooter, again with AI portraits.

It packs a 4000mAh battery with 5V 2A charging. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with MIUI 9 on top. Security wise this device has fingerprint sensor at the back and face unlock (again powered by AI). Connectivity wise it has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, Micro USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and IR Blaster. It weights at 178 grams and is 8.75mm thick. Colour options are; Grey, Gold, Red, Blue, and Rose Gold.

Mi Pad 4:

With this device, Xiaomi is keeping it’s tablet line-up alive. It sports an 8 inch IPS LCD display with Full HD (1920×1200) resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio (new aspect ratio trend is not for tablets). It comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa core processor clocked at 2.2Ghz along with Adreno 512 GPU. It has 3GB/4GB RAM with 32/64GB of internal storage respectively, expandable storage via MicroSD Card slot. It comes with a single 13MP rear camera with f2.0 lens, and 5MP front shooter.

This device packs with 6000mAh battery with slow 5V 2A charging. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with MIUI 9 on top. For security, it only has face unlock, not the fingerprint sensor. Connectivity wise, it has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Colour options are Black and Gold.

Pricing & Availability of Redmi 6 Pro:

  • Redmi 6 Pro 3GB+32GB variant for CNY 999 (USD 153, INR 10,444).
  • Redmi 6 Pro 4GB+32GB variant for CNY 1,199 (USD 185, INR 12,535).
  • Redmi 6 Pro 4GB+ 64GB variant for CNY 1,299 (USD 200, INR 13,581).
  • Sales will start from 26th June in China.
  • No information about the availability in other regions.

Pricing & Availability of Mi Pad 4:

  • Mi Pad 4 3GB+32GB Wi-Fi variant for CNY 1,099 (USD 127, INR 11,400).
  • Mi Pad 4 4GB+64GB Wi-Fi variant for CNY 1,399 (USD 162, INR 14,500).
  • Mi Pad 4 4GB+64GB Wi-Fi + 4G LTE variant for CNY 1,499 (USD 173, INR 15,600).
  • Sales will start from 29th June in China.
  • No information about the availability in other regions.


So that’s all the information we have as of now. The Mi Pad 4 lacks the latest Dual Camera Setup even in Rear side, but other specs are good for the price. Whereas the Redmi 6 Pro has all the latest features like Dual Camera Setup and notch, but basic specs like processor is not the latest one. Let’s see if Xiaomi will launch both these devices in Global markets or not.
