Key Points:
- Coronavirus becomes a villain again.
- Redmi cancels its event.
- The company will host an online event.
Back in last month, the MWC 2020 event washed out due to the outbreak of coronavirus and that forced many brands to launch their products via online event and also to postpone the plannings. Well, the same is expanding once again as the very popular brand Redmi announced to launch its latest Redmi Note 9 smartphone on March 12 but today announced that it is cancelling the event and the reason is the same as the coronavirus.
Manu Kumar Jain, the Managing Director of Xiaomi India shared a tweet and reveals that the company has cancelled its event to launch the device and that is due to the Coronavirus.
Instead of a physical event, the company will host an online event to make way for its latest product. He further adds that the company took the decision by keeping in mind about the safety of its fans, media friends, employees, and partners.
📢#Note the update: Due to recent reports of COVID-19 #CoronaOutbreak in certain parts of the country, we've decided to not host product launch events on-ground in March.
This is keeping in mind safety of fans, media friends, employees & partners. I urge you all to stay safe. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/SOdDZtSkmo
