Reliance Jio Joins Hand With MediaTek To Launch Go Edition Smartphone

It seems the Reliance Jio wants to keep themselves in the headlines in this year also, just like they did in the past year. Recently, the newbie of Reliance i.e. Jio, came in the news, as they are in talks with HMD Global to launch the 4G variant of Nokia 3310 in India. Well, now the company has joined its hand with the popular chipset maker MediaTek to launch Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphones in India.

At an ongoing event of MediaTek in the capital of the country i.e. New Delhi, the chip makers announced the partnership with the Reliance Jio. However, there is no information has revealed about the smartphone but it says that the device will be powered by MediaTek MT6739 processor, which will be optimized to work perfectly with the Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphones.

This partnership will definitely be going to boost the strength of Reliance Jio, as launching the Android smartphone for entry level is really a great move. Especially, other telecom operators already joined their hand with various smartphone brand to launch entry-level Android device to give a head-to-head competition with the JioPhone. Moreover, the Reliance launched feature phone i.e. JioPhone does not support one of the most favourite apps in the world- WhatsApp.

So, the partnership will come in favour to the Reliance Jio because Android Oreo (Go Edition) is meant for the devices which have a low specification. And having that kind of device in their name will definitely give an upper hand in the market. Speaking about the availability of the device, then there is no word about it but MediaTek has said that the first Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphones which will be powered by the MediaTek MT6739 chip will launch in the first quarter.
