Finally after a bunch of leaks and rumors of Samsung’s 2019 sets of flagship smartphone, the company unveiled the Galaxy S10 series today at Galaxy UNPACKED event. Unlike past few Galaxy S smartphones, this year we will see total three versions. The regular Galaxy S10, the more premium Galaxy S10+, and first time introduced cheaper Galaxy S10E. Watching at the specs sheets and design of all three S10, one thing is sure that this year Samsung took a great jump as compared to predecessors. So let’s dig into all three Galaxy S10.
Samsung Galaxy S10
So let’s start with the regular Galaxy S10 first. It has the all-glass design with that Infinity Hole display. Talking about the display, it sports 6.1 inch of Quad HD+ AMOLED display with 3040×1440 resolution and 550 ppi. It has whopping 800 nits of brightness, that’s because this is an HDR+ supported the display with aspect ratio of 19:9 and protected with Gorilla Glass 6 on top. Beneath the display, we have that ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which is more secure and has wider touch area than regular in-display sensors. This device comes with two processor variants; Exynos 9820 octa core processor built on 8mm process and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 octa core processor built on 7mm process. It has 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 128GB and 512GB of internal storage respectively, with expandable storage up to 1.5TB.
Regarding camera, this Galaxy S10 houses a triple camera setup. The primary is a 12MP sensor with f1.5 dual aperture lens and dual pixel OIS. Secondary is also a 12MP sensor but with f2.4 telephoto 2x zoom lens, autofocus, and OIS. Lastly the third one is 16MP sensor with f2.2 ultra wide angle (133) lens but with fixed focus. It can record videos up to 4K at 60fps, 1080p at 240fps, and 720p at 960fps. The Adobe Premiere Rush will be preloaded for quick editing the videos before sharing it on social media. On the front there is a 10MP sensor with f1.9 lens and Dual Pixel PDAF. This time we saw a great bump in terms of video recording from front camera. This whole S10 lineup is the first one to have 4K video recording from front camera. Other camera features are AR Emojis, Stickers, and live focus.
This Galaxy S10 runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Samsung’s One UI on top. It packs in a 3400mAh battery with fast charging support. This time it also has wireless charging 2.0 , which might be the fast wireless charging. Also it has Wireless Power Share feature which charges other phones wirelessly with S10’s battery. It has stereo speakers with Dolby ATMOS sound. The 3.5mm headphone jack still retains it’s place with 32-bit sound support. For connectivity it has 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, aptX HD, and USB Type-C port. It weights at 157 grams and is 7.8mm thin. It comes with Prism Black, Prism White, and Prism Green color options.
Samsung Galaxy S10+

It sports 6.3 inch of Quad HD+ AMOLED display with 3040×1440 resolution and 522 ppi. So that’s all the information we have as of now. Whoa, this year’s Galaxy S10 series has a lot of new features both in terms of software as well as hardware. The display is surely going to be a highlight point for this device because in terms of display no one can come closer to Samsung panels. Also I loved to see how Samsung is still promoting the 3.5mm headphone jack by adding better quality sound output. If these phones will be priced intelligently, this might become one of the best flagship purchases of 2019. Well, what are your thoughts on this year’s Galaxy S10 series?
