Key Points:
- Samsung unveiled 5G variant of its second foldable device.
- The smartphone is powered by the newly announced Qualcomm flagship chipset.
- It shares the specifications with the regular variant.
Samsung made a curtain raiser ahead of its much anticipated Unpacked the event, as the company has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G and it comes with the newly announced Qualcomm flagship chipset along with the 5G connectivity, Samsung has also launched the smartphone with two new colour options as well.
The South Korean electronics giant Samsung has unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G with the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor and that means the device will also support the next generation 5G connectivity, the company has also announced the device with two colour options – Mystic Bronze and Mystic Grey.
Apart from this, everything remains the same to the regular variant of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G. It features a clamshell design. It makes the phone size small when folded, unlike Galaxy Fold which transforms into a tablet when open and into a phone when folded. It has a very tall 22:9 aspect ratio with 6.7 inch Dynamic AMOLED display having Full HD+ resolution and 425 PPI. There’s a tiny 1.1 inch secondary AMOLED display on the outer side, to get a glimpse of notifications.
It has 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage, with no expandable storage option. It runs on Android 10 out of the box with One UI 2.1 on top. This device packs only a 3,300mAh battery with only 15W charging. The fingerprint sensor is side mounted here. Stereo speakers present here are tuned by AKG. For connectivity, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip has 5G, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, aptX HD, and Type-C port.
Speaking about the camera, there’s nothing much exciting here because the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Flip only has a dual camera setup at the back. The primary camera is a 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixels, PDAF, and OIS. Then there’s 12MP ultra wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture. Though there’s nothing much exciting about the hardware, because of a clamshell design, we can place the camera still without any mount and can click high exposure images and great time-lapse/hyper-lapse. Unlike the Galaxy S20 series, this one does not support 8K video recording, only up to 4k at 60fps is supported. On the front, there’s a single 10MP camera with f/2.4 aperture, 1.24μm pixels, and PDAF.
it will be available through AT&T and T-Mobile and that’s priced $1,450 and it is available from August 7 in the market of the United States.
