Samsung Might Announce A New Galaxy ‘R’ Series

Few months back we got a lot of leaks of Samsung’s Galaxy A90. But instead this smartphone was launched as Galaxy A80. We thought that A90 chapter is over, but that’s not the case. A new report claims that Samsung will launch A90 but with a different name, actually in a different series.

This report says that the upcoming device won’t be named as Galaxy A90, instead it will launch in a new Galaxy R series. The model number of this device is SM-A90x, which we are considering as Galaxy A90. Total two smartphones are expected to debut under this new series, we don’t know if that second device will be a Lite version or Pro version of SM-A90x. It is also being supposed that one of them will have 5G support as well. The other one is said to have “a very unique camera setup”. It might be that flip camera which we have seen on Galaxy A80. Also both smartphones will have huge display and triple camera setup.

Another report of the same device under Galaxy R series claims that this will have support for 45W fast charging. This will be the highest wattage for any Samsung smartphone till date, highest till date is 25W with Galaxy S10 5G. Even the 4G Galaxy S10+ has 15W fast charging support. So it will be a huge gap for Samsung. The Galaxy Note 10 is also expected to support 45W fast charging.

So that’s all the information we have as of now. It seems like Samsung is expanding their reach in premium mid-range market with Galaxy R series or want to compete with budget flagships like OnePlus 7, Asus Zenfone 6, or Redmi K20 Pro. Well, what are your thoughts on this new Galaxy R series? Is it really necessary to launch another series? Let us know in the comment section below. Also stay tuned with us for more information.
