Samsung is one of the biggest name in manufacturing smartphone processors. It’s flagship grade Exynos processors are considered as one of the best Android processor every year. We see a new flagship processor launch with every new flagship i.e. mostly with S series but sometimes with Note series as well. And same is expected with upcoming Galaxy S11 series. But seems like there will be a change in the processor of this upcoming flagship.
Today Samsung released a statement that they are going to shut down their own Mongoose cores. If you don’t know Mongoose is a Samsung made CPU core which we can find in every flagship processor from Exynos 8890 or Galaxy S7 duo. These Mongoose cores were used to be the two most powerful cores since the launch, which is meant for heavy tasking. Reason which is stated by the official is that they want to make their Exynos chipsets more competitive in the market. Because ARM cores have more app stability as compared to any other core. The plant is said to be shut down from 31st December.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Both Qualcomm and Huawei Kirin processors have some powerful custom CPU. The Kryo core is one of the best CPU cores on Android smartphones. And they are well established now. But why Samsung closed the production of their own and chosen ARM cores? Let us know in the comments section below. Also stay tuned with us for more information
