Samsung has introduced a new version of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, in China known simply as Samsung W21 5G. Even though the smartphone is identical to the Fold counterpart, the company has ditched the ‘Galaxy’ moniker for the Chinese variant. Let us see the details of the newly unveiled Samsung W21 5G.

It features an identical 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the inside and a 6.23-inch Super AMOLED display remains on the outside. The outer display is protected by the new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus layer. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset. Its paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
Moving to the camera department, the Samsung W21 5G houses the exact same setup as the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G. The triple rear camera setup starts with a 12-megapixel primary sensor that has large 1.8µm pixels with an aperture of f/1.8. It features Dual Pixel AF and OIS. It is followed by a 12-megapixel sensor that supports 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. Lastly, there is a 12-megapixel ultrawide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture. The punch hole in the display holds the 10-megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a FOV of 80 degrees.
It is backed by the same 4,500 mAh battery capable of charging at 25W speed and at 11W wirelessly. The one striking difference is the presence of a dual sim card slot adhering to the Chinese regulations. If you have noticed the rear of the smartphone comes with vertical stripes in a golden finish. The Samsung W21 5G is priced at CNY 20,000 and the extra cost, when compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 (at CNY 17,000) covers for concierge services. The pre-orders will go live from 20:20 local time.
