We will be seeing a new chapter in Apple as on September 1, 2026, John Ternus officially became the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Tim Cook. We know that Tim Cook completed 15 years of his service as the CEO of Apple and he will remain involved with Apple as its executive chairman.
Talking about John Ternus, he is actually not a newcomer to Apple. He joined the company in 2001 as part of its Product Design team and steadily moved through the hardware organization. He was appointed as the Vice President of Hardware Engineering in 2013 and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering in 2021.
During his career at Apple, John Ternus has been closely involved with some of the company’s most important products, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and AirPods. He also played a very important role in the switch from internships to Apple’s self-developed chipsets.
He has significant challenges in the new role as the company is currently navigating intense competition in artificial intelligence while continuing to develop its hardware and software ecosystem. John Ternus will need to maintain Apple’s strengths while helping the company define its next generation of innovation.
So let’s wait and see the new chapter of Apple under the leadership of John Ternus. We wish all the very best and looking forward.
