The first week of this year was full of excitement and thrill, we had really interesting launches and announcements. OnePlus 11 flagship smartphone has been announced and it is coming with the top notch specifications, Redmi Note 12 series is now official in India, the Indian government has made USB Type-C mandatory for smartphones and many more interesting things happened last week. OnePlus 11 unveiled
It is the first flagship smartphone of this year and the company has announced the latest OnePlus 11 with an IP54 certification and it is featuring a 6.7-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a punch-hole set up. The device features LTPO 3.0 panel along with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor along with up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage. The device is also coming with VC liquid cooling system. It is running on Android 13 with OxygenOS 13 out of the box.

Speaking about the camera department, the OnePlus 11 is featuring a triple rear camera setup with Hasselblad tuning and it is having a massive circular camera module on the back. The camera module of the device is housing an OIS-assisted 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX581 secondary sensor with an ultra-wide lens and autofocus support for macro vision, and a 32MP Sony IMX709 RGBW tertiary sensor with a 2x telephoto lens. The device is also featuring a 16MP front facing camera. It is also supporting an in-display fingerprint scanner for an additional layer of security.
The company has also brought back the signature alert slider button on the device and it is also featuring a bionic vibration motor. The OnePlus 11 is housing a massive 5,000mAh battery along with 100W fast wired charging. The device will be official globally on February 7.
Redmi Note 12 series is now official in India
The vanilla variant of the Redmi Note 12 series is featuring a 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 mobile processor along with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.2 storage. The device is running on Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top.
Speaking about the camera department, the device is featuring a dual camera setup on the back panel with a 48MP primary snapper and a 2MP depth sensor. It is also featuring an 8MP front facing camera. It is also IP53-rated and the device is also featuring a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is housing a massive 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 12 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 mobile processor along with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The Redmi Note 12 Pro has a triple rear camera set up with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with support for optical image stabilisation followed by an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The device is also featuring a 16-megapixel front facing camera. The device is also coming with a 5,000mAh battery along with 67W fast charging.

While the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is also coming with the power of the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 mobile processor along with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It is also featuring an X-axis 0809 vibration motor for gaming and a 3,000mm square vapour chamber (VC).
The device is featuring a 200-megapixel Samsung HPX sensor with an f/1.65 lens with optical image stabilisation (OIS) along with an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 lens and 120-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The device is featuring a 16-megapixel front facing camera with an f/2.45 lens. It is featuring a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The new Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is backed by a 4,980mAh battery along with 120W fast charging and the same also supports Surge P1 chips for power management as well. The pricing of the smartphone series starts at ₹17999 and it will be available from January 11.
OnePlus Buds Pro 2 goes official
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 has been introduced with Dynaudio tuning and the device is coming with dual drivers that includes 11mm and 6mm. It is also featuring Bluetooth 5.2 and it is also featuring ‘dual connection’ capability.

It is coming with active noise cancellation and uses algorithms to activate ANC (up to 48dB) according to your environment. It is also supporting the Hi-Res Audio Wireless and features LHDC 5.0 audio codec as well as 360° spatial audio. It is also capable to offer up to 54ms low latency mode for gaming. The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 truly wireless earphones also support touch controls and it is coming with up to 39 hours of battery life with the charging case.
USB Type-C becomes mandatory in India
After European Union, the Indian government officially announced that USB Type-C will be mandatory in India from March 2025 which means all the devices need to feature the same type of charging standard. It is really good news from the point of view of a consumer.
Motorola ThinkPhone officially announced
The device features a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate as well as HDR10+ support. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset along with 8GB/12GB of RAM, and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage.
The device features a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with both PDAF and OIS on the back panel with a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide with Macro Vision. It is featuring a 32MP front facing camera with autofocus.

The device is also coming with a certification of the MIL-STD 810H and IP68. It is housing a massive 5,000mAh battery along with 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It is also coming with lots of integrated features and the same will enable seamless interconnectivity with the Lenovo ThinkPad laptops. The device is also coming with Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams apps which means you can focus on your work on the go as well.
