Xiaomi 18 Pro series launched
Xiaomi launched the highly anticipated Xiaomi 18 Pro Series including the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The company has changed its launch strategy as the vanilla variant will be announced at a different event. The latest Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max come with the latest Android 17 out of the box along with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the devices come with the power of the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series. The devices also come with a display on the back panel. The company also features a 200-megapixel (f/1.67) primary shooter on both devices. Strict rules for screen protectors in India
It has been revealed that the Indian government is banning low-quality smartphone screen protectors from the markets of India. The new rule will be implemented from April 1, 2027. After the deadline, every screen protector sold in India needs mandatory BIS certification (IS 19348:2025 standard).
Mivi One 5G unveiled
Mivi officially launched its first ever smartphone and the device is called the Mivi One 5G. The device runs Android 16 with a stock Android interface along with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has the power of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset along with a 50 megapixel primary sensor. The device houses a 6,000mAh battery. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series launched
The popular mobile chipset maker Qualcomm has officially introduced its latest and greatest chipsets of 2026 and it is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series. The company has introduced two chipsets in the series including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The new chipsets have been introduced as world’s first mobile processors with 5GHz CPU along with multiple improvements including performance and power efficiency. The chipsets are also offering AI features along with impressive gaming experience, and the chipsets will also provide upgrades in the photography as well. CMF to be an Indian
Nothing’s CEO and Founder, Carl Pei has announced that CMF will no longer be a subsidiary of the smartphone brand. It is said that the company will be constituted as a “standalone” Indian firm.
Moreover, the top most executive has emphasised that building an end-to-end research and development ecosystem within India should be the next step to build an Indian global consumer electronics brand. This particular announcement has been made after Nothing registered CMF as an Indian entity, and the headquarters are also being moved to the country. It is also said that 99 percentage of smartphones of the brand sold in India and manufactured domestically.
Apart from that, Nothing also said that the company is expanding its strategic manufacturing joint venture with the Optiemus Group that will be bringing manufacturing, ownership, and research and development of Nothing and CMF smartphones under one India-based entity, CMF.
