1. OnePlus Nord 2 5G Launched with Dimensity 1200 Chipset:
OnePlus was in the limelight for whole week, with its newly launched OnePlus Nord 2 5G. This device comes with a great price tag and after a long time we saw a flagship killer from OnePlus. Though it’s Dimensity 1200-AI is not comparable to the true flagship Snapdragon 888 processor, but it’s just below the same. It has 50MP Sony IMX 766 main camera which we saw in flagship OnePlus 9 Pro. Then it has 4,500mAh battery with superfast 65W Warp Charging. It’s the 1st OnePlus smartphone to have 7 5G bands in India with 5G support in both SIM slots. Other specs like display, storage, and connectivity are also good enough for the price. 2. Poco F3 GT Launched in India with Gaming Triggers:
Just after a day of OnePlus Nord 2 5G’s launch, Poco launched its gaming centric smartphone in India, Poco F3 GT. It packs similar specs, with some add-ons and few downgrades. It has the same Dimensity 1200 processor for immense gaming. It has 10-bit AMOLED Display with 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz of touch sampling. This one has bigger 5,065mAh battery with 67W fast charging. There are two dedicated gaming triggers, vapour cooling, and other game centric features. 3. Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event Date Announced:
This week Samsung announed the official date of its most speculated even of the year, Galaxy Unpacked. 1st one was help in Q1, and now it’s time for the 2nd one. The event will happen on August 11th i.e., in 15-17 days approx. The main highlight of the event will be the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. One of these might have support for S-Pen to maybe replace the Note lineup. Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds 2 are also expected to launch. 4. Samsung Galaxy A22 5G Launched in India:
Samsung also launched a midrange 5G smartphone in Indian market this week, Galaxy A22 5G. It’s an upgraded version of Galaxy A22 4G version with better and 5G capable processor i.e., Mediatek Dimensity 700. It has Full HD IPS LCD Display with 90Hz refresh rate. Storage option is also good with 6/8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage with option for expansion. It has massive 5,000mAh battery but with just 15W charging support. The pricing starts from ₹19,999 and it’s a great option for those who want a good phone from a tier one brand. 5. Corning Announced Protection Glass for Smartphone Camera:
We are seeing Corning’s Gorilla Glass on the front and back side of smartphones from many years. But the camera lenses were untouched from any protection, until now. This week Corning announced Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ glasses, which are made for the protection of camera lenses. With this, the minor scratches on cameras won’t get easily. It’s a demand from many users for years that a protection glass should be present on cameras as well. But better late then never. These new glasses will come on flagships from 2022, hopefully.
