The tech giant Microsoft announced their new tool to hunt out online child abusers. As their part of shaping the new technologies for socially good causes, Microsoft enabled Artificial Intelligence (AI) to catch the online child predators. By this tool companies/users can monitor the chats with kids continuously and detect any attempt that leads to child grooming (An online child abuse practice).
Officially dubbed as “Artemis” this project has been in making of this tool since November 2018 and has begun its foundation at Microsoft’s a tech meet up “360 Cross-Industry Hackathon”. This project has been under development and been a group effort including other industry experts such as The Meet Group, Roblox, Kik, and Thorn. The new tool evaluates the conversation and rates it with the preset conversation parameters. Any entity can use this tool to prevent and catch online child predictors by setting certain parameters to rate the conversation. Any chat goes beyond the point that will be flagged and forwarded to a moderator for further reviews.
