Twitter announced that the API Cut off would be delayed, this will let users to use the third-party apps for even more time.
Last year, in December, Twitter has announced the third party apps would stop working from 19th June 2018. This will be replaced by the new Account Activity API.
“Last year we announced our plan to retire Site Streams & User Streams, and replace them with the Account Activity API (currently in beta). We are delaying the scheduled June 19th deprecation date.”

This will directly affect the Talon, Tweetings, Twitterrific and Tweetbot and encourage users to trend #BreakingMyTwitter. Twitter will also provide 90 days notice from when the Account Activity API becomes available.
Twitter didn’t mention how long will it take the execution to happen. But we expect twitter would make some push notifications like things, but third-party apps will still not have any of the live updating features. Let’s wait and see what Twitter brings us in nearby months.
