LG seemed to be returning to the smartphone business with a new series and new philosophy. They teased the Velvet series about having a premium design that stood out and moderate specs.
Today we have quite a lot of information leaked about the LG Velvet series. These phones are the upper-mid range lineup from LG replacing the infamous G-series. Starting with the processor, LG Velvet will have Snapdragon 765 powering the unit. This chipset is 5G capable and falls in the upper-midrange category. Velvet is expected to house a 48-megapixel primary rear camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and lastly, a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The selfie shooter is a 16-megapixel one. The 48-megapixel sensor is from Samsung, and it is the ISOCELL Bright GM2. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner too.
Other features include a 4300 mAh battery to power the device that supports fast wired charging as well as wireless charging. The RAM and Storage are expected to be 8GB and 128GB, respectively. Velvet comes with a set of stereo speakers, IP68 dust and water resistance rating. The phone would be 180 grams in weight and 7.85 mm thick.
The colours teased for the phone are Aurora White, Aurora Green, Aurora Gray and Illusion Sunset. It is expected to launch in Korea for KRW 899,800 which is approximately, $730. Expect the phones to hit stores sometime around the middle of May.
