Last year, Vivo presented a prototype of a smartphone with the in-display fingerprint sensor and it was the first in this category. But a couple of days ago, we got a leak which said a Chinese smartphone brand is going to unveil their smartphone with the in screen fingerprint technology. However, now at the CES 2018 event, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has unveiled world’s first in-display fingerprint sensor smartphone.
The smartphone manufacturer presented the device at the event, and also said that it is ready for the mass production. The company didn’t reveal the timeline for the availability of the device in the market. But the company said that details related to the availability of the device will be announced in early this year.
What is In-screen fingerprint sensor
If you are unaware of this technology, then it is the most modern way for protecting a device from unwanted hands. As with this technology, users can able to unlock the device by touching the scanner on the screen, as the manufacturer will place the fingerprint scanner under the screen. Right now, we have devices with fingerprint scanner either below the screen or below the real camera. But with this technology, the fashion of placing fingerprint sensor on the body will be replaced.
