The company launched beta version of its upcoming 2.1 version, and it comes with lots of additions and improvements. In the latest update the app supports for playing 360 degree videos and the company is also working to add support for VR headset. In the latest update the app also adds support for picture-in-picture video for when the app on Android TV. VLC now includes blurred version of any current art cover, if available in the background. Along with the big additions in the latest version, there are other smaller additions, UI tweaks and improvements.
