It seems that developers of WhatsApp have no rest, as they continuously rolling out new features into the instant messaging application. Last week, WhatsApp beta updated with the feature of picture-in-picture mode support for video calls on Android O. And now the developers have rolled out yet another feature with the latest beta update for Android, which is from Nougat.
Now you may be thinking about which feature I’m saying, right? Well it is in-app shortcuts feature, and the feature will be available with the latest beta update for Android. The update is available in the v2.17.277, and now the feature supports for starred messages, camera and new chat.
As I mentioned in the initial stage of the article, the new feature is taken from Android Nougat v7.1.1. And if your device is running below than the Nougat, then you will not get this feature. So, if you are using a Nougat powered device then the new feature will show up when you long press on the app icon of WhatsApp. And you can also add any of these shortcuts on the home screen by dragging it just like you add app icon.
So, don’t waste anytime enroll yourself into the official WhatsApp beta program and enjoy the latest feature on your device.
By the way, are you using a Nougat powered device??? Share it with us in the comment section below!
