WhatsApp updated; adds Mentions and GIF support

WhatsApp the world’s most popular instant messaging application, updated and brings Mentions and GIF support. Since the acquisition of WhatsApp by Facebook, the instant messaging application always updated with cool features. And now the app finally rolled out the most wanted feature especially for those who do lots of group chatting.

The mentions feature can be used to quote a specify a particular contact user in a group. To use this feature type @ followed by name of the person, for example: @akhil, similar thing which you do on Facebook or Twitter.

 

You can send GIF images by tapping the attachment icon and choose video. Then, you will see the trimming option of video and at top of the screen you will see an option called GIF. Just tap on it and you will see the changing to GIF and just send it.

 

You will get this features on the version 2.16.272, if you didn’t get the update then join WhatsApp beta program or grab the APK.
