WhatsApp Web Receives Picture-in-Picture Mode

Just a couple of days ago, we updated that the world’s most favourite instant messaging application WhatsApp for Android gets the Picture-in-Picture Mode and now the company now extended the feature to the WhatsApp Web.

The developers of the world’s most favourite instant messaging application made the picture-in-picture mode perfectly on WhatsApp Web and similar in the iPhone, as on WhatsApp web users can able to watch videos in a floating window and move it around while sending messages and media to their dear and near ones in different chats. However, on Android it will not work when you press the back button.

WhatsApp Web Receives Picture-in-Picture Mode

Having said that, the picture-in-picture mode on WhatsApp web currently works only with the shared videos, unlike Android and iPhone, it will not work with the videos which are shared from Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube. But we can expect that the company will give support for other platforms as well in the future update.

WhatsApp Web users can able to watch videos in the PIP mode, you need to an icon which will appear in the top left corner of the video thumbnail, and once you click on that, the video will start playing in the PIP mode and you will able to move the window around the screen. Moreover, the floating window also has all the controls which you expect from a video player and it also allows you to enter in the full-screen mode.
