It was recently reported that WhatsApp is working on a group expiring feature and now we got a new piece of information which is suggesting that the company is working on another feature called the push name and the same is available on the beta app of WhatsApp for iOS.
The upcoming push name feature is capable to replace the phone number within the chat when you receive a message from a contact that is not saved in your phone. This will be happening in a group chat only.
WhatsApp is actually doing the same by swapping the position of phone numbers and the push names within the message bubble in order to make you identify the unknown person in the group.
The report is saying that the new feature is appearing in the latest beta app of WhatsApp for iOS and showing the chat list instead of the phone number whenever you receive a message from an unknown group member.
