Along with Mi Mix 2S smartphone, the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has unveiled a new accessory called MI AI speaker at an event in Shanghai. The newly unveiled speaker is the company’s voice assistant, and with this speaker, the company now competes with Google Home Mini, Amazon Echo Dots like products.
In terms of design, the speaker has a cubical design with rounded corners and, on the top of it, there are volume and navigation buttons along with four microphones which are surrounded the buttons and there is also a tiny RGB LED which will change the colour according to its task.
The speaker is powered by the 1.2 GHz Cortex A7 quad core along with Artificial Intelligence (AI). It allows you to access more than 35 million songs, and you can also use the speaker as a smart alarm clock, as it has the ability to schedule a reminder. Moreover, the speaker will read news or any kind of information loudly. You can also make any enquiries about the upcoming events, traffic or movies.
Speaking about the connectivity, the speaker supports 2.4 Hz Wi-Fi band, Bluetooth 4.1 and four microphones along with micro USB port which allows the speaker to be connected to a power source. The speaker will be compatible with Android 4.4 or above and IOS 8.0 or above. Talking about the colour choices, the device will be available in white colour.
Moving to the pricing and availability of Mi AI speaker, it is priced at 169 Yuan (approx 1,700), and it will be available in China but there is no information about the availability in other parts of the world.
