Youtube Got Hacked, Most Viewed ‘Despacito’ Shut Down

YouTube has grown very vastly over the past few years. We have seen a tremendous amount of different types of content on YouTube. Today a bunch of songs are also officially uploaded to YouTube. Last year a Spanish music video ‘Despacito’ was uploaded to YouTube and it got a tremendous response from all around the globe. Now yesterday, something strange happened with that video on YouTube.

The most viewed YouTube video Despacito hot deleted from YouTube yesterday. It’s not officially deleted, but the Vevo channel was hacked by an organisation named as Prosox and Kuroi’sh. They first hacked the Vevo channel and changed the thumbnail image with their own image. That image has a group of masked people pointing a gun. They replaced some of the video’s title with their own message, one of them includes ‘Free Palestine’. And later YouTube took Despacito down, which led down the 1^st & only YouTube video having 5 Billion + views. But after few hours, YouTube fixed all the issues and restored the video along with it’s thumbnail, title, views, and comments.

“After seeing unusual upload activity on a handful of Vevo channels, we worked quickly with our partner to disable access while they investigate the issue,” a spokeswoman for YouTube told the BBC.

Also, one twitter account which was probably the account of the hacker, tweeted that “It’s just for fun, I just use [the] script ‘youtube-change-title-video’ and I write ‘hacked’.”

It further added “Don’t judge me I love YouTube”.

According to cyber experts, uploading, deleting, or changing any settings of the video requires an authentication key. And this key is surely being provided by high-level officials at YouTube. So either the hacker has found a way to go through the YouTube security checks, or maybe someone from YouTube itself is involved here.

So that’s all the information we have as of now. We are happy that YouTube restored the video along with it’s precious views. Do note that Despacito is the 1^st & only YouTube video that has reached 5 Billion mark, and that too over the course of a year.
