Google has introduced new launcher called ‘Nexus launcher’, that may debut on the 2016 Nexus Devices. We tested the new launcher and it is really smooth and awesome.
The new launcher is coming with lots of changes, and it’s not clear that the design is final or not. Now let’s move to functions of the launcher.
- The new launcher has removed the app drawer icon (the icon which open up menu). Now you have to just slide up to access app drawer (menu of the device) and slide down to close the drawer.
- The drawer has got a large and redesigned search bar.
- On home screen Google has removed it’s search bar widget, and placed ‘G’ tab. Which will pop up with search bar when you tap on the ‘G’. And opposite of the ‘G’ tab, you can see calendar widget which cannot be removed.
How to get the Nexus Launcher
- To get the new launcher download and install the APK, you will get all the features except the swiping for Google Now. But you can access it by tapping on the ‘G’ tab.
- The launcher may force close when you try to select wallpaper. Download and install wallpaper picker APK to fix this issue.
There is one more method which is more effective. You need to flash the launcher via TWRP. It will enable the swiping for Google Now and also you can choose wallpaper without wallpaper picker apk.
