Red Magic has officially introduced its latest flagship lineup as promised and the new offering is dubbed the Red Magic 9 Pro series. The latest flagship gaming smartphone lineup is official in the market of China and the lineup includes the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro Plus. The company offers the new devices with the power of the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processor. Everything about Red Magic 9 Pro series
The newly introduced Red Magic 9 Pro series features a flat back and a full-screen display. The camera setup of the latest smartphone series is protected by a layer of custom-made glass. It will be available in color options including Dark Knight, Deuterium Front Transparent Dark Night, and Deuterium Front Transparent Silver Wings.
Both devices feature a 6.8-inch full-screen AMOLED display with 2480 X 1116 pixels resolution along with an impressive 93.7% screen-to-body ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The devices also feature 2160Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming + DC dimming, a 960Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate, and a peak brightness of 1600nit. The display also features full coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supports HDR10+. The device comes with an under-display camera setup and that’s why there is no cutout on the top of the screen.
Under the hood, the Red Magic 9 Pro and 9 Pro Plus come with the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processor along with up to 16GB on Pro and up to 24 GB on Pro Plus LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512 GB on the Pro variant and up to 1TB on Pro Plus UFS4.0 storage. The smartphone series also features a 10,182mm² vapor chamber, a new alloy fan + waterfall air duct, and the CUBE energy engine that can reduce the heat by up to 25°C. The lineup also comes with Red Magic’s in-house game chip, known as the Red Core R2 Pro, and the same is meant to improve gaming experience by enhancing features like haptic feedback, audio, and touch-sampling rate.
The latest Red Magic 9 Pro series runs on Android 14 with REDMAGIC OS 9.0 out of the box. The devices can be used for seamless mapping of external devices like a controller or keyboard and mouse to on-screen controls. The new Red Magic 9 Pro houses a 6500mAh battery along with an 80W fast charging solution while the Pro Plus model houses a 5500mAh battery with 165W ultra-fast flash charging. Both models support the USB 3.2 gen2 protocol and full-featured TYPE-C.
The devices also come with 520Hz touch shoulder buttons for gaming, Magic Sound stereo dual speakers, and 3 inbuilt mics. Regarding the connectivity options, the smartphone series supports Wi-Fi 7, IR remote control, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and NFC.
Speaking about the camera department, the smartphone lineup features a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 primary camera with OIS along with a 50-megapixel JN1 ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Both devices feature a 16MP under-display front-facing camera. The devices feature RGB cooling fans as well and the company offers an in-display fingerprint scanner that will work as a heart rate monitor as well.
Regarding the pricing and availability, the pricing of the latest Red Magic 9 Pro starts at 4,399 yuan and the devices will be available in China from November 28.
