Airtel takes on Jio 4G feature phone in partnership with Karbonn

Airtel announces a product to take on Jio 4G feature phone. Yes. Airtel introduces “Mera Pehla 4G smartphone”. The real pocket-friendly smartphone, and better specs than the Jio Phone.

Airtel takes this challenge in partnership with Karbonn Mobiles with the Karbonn A40 Indian. The smartphone is said to be the 4G initiative aimed to every Indian to buy a 4G smartphone. The Karbonn A40 Indian was launched in July at a market price of ₹3,499 and will be available at an effective price of Rs.1,399.

Buyers first need to make a down payment of Rs.2,899 for the smartphone and then make a minimum amount of recharge over the three years course to receive a cashback of ₹1,500. Users need to make recharges worth of at least ₹300 in the first 18 months to avail the Rs 500 cashback and the same amount in the next period to get Rs 1000. So finally the effective price is ₹1,399. The cash refund will be made in the form of payments to the user’s Airtel Payments Bank account.
