Apple introduced its emergency SOS via satellite feature with the iPhone 14 Pro models last year and this particular feature was helpful for many in the past. Now the company has introduced the feature in two new countries and this is suggesting that Apple is expanding the satellite feature without making any huge delay.
In the latest development, the company has expanded Emergency SOS via Satellite feature in Australia and New Zealand for Apple iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro users who are using the devices with iOS 16.1 or later.
With the new move, the satellite feature is now available in 14 countries including United States, United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Australia, and New Zealand. India is yet to get the feature.
The emergency feature will enable you to send text messages to emergency services when there’s no cellular network or Wi-Fi connection available. It is worth mentioning that this feature will only work in Open Spaces with a clear sight of the sky and without obstructions like trees, buildings, etc.
