Asus has already confirmed that the upcoming ASUS ROG Phone 8 series will be announced in the early days of January and the same will be launched in the market of China on January 16. Today the renders and the full specification details of the upcoming smartphone series appear online. So without making any further delay let’s get into the article to check out the details.
Going through the leaked renders, we can see that the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro change the traditional hardcore gaming phone design of their predecessors. The front of the upcoming devices features a punch-hole display and the back panel of the device comes with a prominent camera module in the top-right corner and the back of the devices also come with an RGB-lit logo and gaming mottos. It is also reported that the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 8 has a matte finish on the back while the Pro variant will be coming with a glossy finish on the back.
The source also says that the upcoming ASUS ROG Phone 8 series will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution along with a 165Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2500 nits. The revisors will come with the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processor along with a massive 5,500mAh battery with 65W charging capability, as per 3C certification. The report also says that the devices will support an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a 5-magnet speaker.
Regarding the connectivity options, the latest Asus ROG Phone 8 series will be supporting Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. The phones will run on Android 14 with the ROG UI out of the box. Speaking about the protection, both devices will be coming with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and an IP68 rating.
The vanilla variant is said to come with 12 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, while the ROG Phone 8 Pro is reported to feature 16 GB or 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Pro variant is reported to feature a 32-megapixel selfie camera while the back panel will come with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 32-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
Apart from that, the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 8 series is also said to come with an Aero Case and fast charger in the box. It is also believed that the company will be offering gaming-focused accessories including the DEVILCASE Guardian phone case supporting the AeroActive Cooler X.
