Asus has officially launched the highly anticipated Asus ROG Phone 9 series which includes the vanilla variant and the Pro variant. The smartphone series is official with a 6.78″ 185Hz AMOLED display along with the power of the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite. The smartphone series also comes with up to 24GB RAM and the devices feature an impressive camera setup as well. Everything about Asus ROG Phone 9 series
The latest Asus ROG Phone 9 series sports a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR LTPO display along with a 165Hz refresh rate and 185Hz in select titles. The device also features 2500 nits peak brightness, 107% DCI-P3 color gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
Under the hood, the smartphone series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile processor along with up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The devices also come with a 360° SoC Cooling System Gen 3 design, a 57% larger graphite sheet, and a redesigned AeroActive Cooler X Pro.
The smartphone series also comes with a subwoofer for 2.1 stereo sound and the devices also feature hardware shoulder buttons for a better gaming experience. The devices come with the ROG Chill Case and the same features Composite Vapor Chamber (CVC) technology that is capable to reduce temperatures by up to 17%. Both devices run on Android 15 with ROG UI.
Speaking about the camera department, the latest Asus ROG Phone 9 features a triple camera setup and that is in the combination of a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700 sensor as the primary lens along with 6-axis gimbal stabilization. The device also features a 13MP ultra-wide camera and a 5MP macro sensor. On the other hand, the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro replaces the macro sensor with a 32MP 3x telephoto camera that features OIS. The devices feature a 32MP front-facing camera.
The smartphone series houses a 5800mAh battery with 65W fast charging and the same has HyperCharge technology. The devices offer 15W Qi wireless charging and the same is compatible with Quick Charge 5.0 and Power Delivery standards. The Asus ROG Phone 9 Series features dual SIM support, 5G SA/NSA connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. The devices feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phones offer a 3.5mm audio jack and dual stereo speakers.
Both devices feature IP68 water and dust resistance and the Asus ROG Phone 9 series features the AniMe Vision display at the back, with 85 programmable mini-LEDs on the base model and 648 on the Pro.
Regarding the pricing and availability, the Asus ROG Phone 9 starts at $999.99 while the ROG Phone 9 Pro costs $1,199.99. The phones are available for pre-order now and shipping will start tomorrow in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China, the devices will be available in Europe from December 2024 and the same will be available in the United States in January 2025.
