From the past couple of weeks, we were hearing about the Zenfone 6 and we also came across various leaks, rumours, and teasers. Well, now the company has officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone called Asus Zenfone 6. The device is coming with the new flip-up camera setup, which is another attempt to ditch notch for the full view screen. Specifications of Asus Zenfone 6
The smartphone 6.46 inch full HD+ NanoEdge display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution along with 19:6:9 aspect ratio, and it offers 600 nits brightness along with HDR10 and the coming with the protection of Gorilla Glass 6, it also features a 92% screen to body ratio.
Under the hood
The latest flagship device of the Taiwanese brand is powered by the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, and the device is paired with 6GB and 8GB of RAM, along with Adreno 640 GPU. In terms of storage, the device will be available in 64 GB and 128 GB of internal storage, and the device has a dedicated slot for the micro SD card, which will allow users to expand the storage.
Coming to the camera, which is the highlighting section of the device. As mentioned above, the device comes with the flip-up camera setup, which means it will available at the rear side, but it will flip for you when you need to capture your selfie or want the camera for the video calls. The Asus Zenfone 6 rocks a 48 MP camera with Dual LED Flash, f/1.8 aperture, 1/2.25″ Sony IMX586 sensor and a 13 MP secondary camera with 125-degree ultra-wide lens, f/2.4 aperture.
The smartphone also features a fingerprint scanner to give the maximum layer of security, the device also features dual speakers as well with dual smart amplifiers and Dual NXP TFA9874 smart amp. The device also comes with a notification LED light which is one of my all-time favorite features.
Regarding the connectivity options, the smartphone supports Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5, NFC, 3.5 mm headphone jack, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C.
The new Zenfone 6 runs on Android 9 Pie with ZenUI 6 atop, and the company promises to upgrade the smartphone to Android Q and Android R.
Finally, the smartphone packs on a massive 5,000 mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0. It will be available in two colour options – Midnight Black and Twilight Silver.
Pricing and availability
The pricing starts at 499 Euros for 6 GB + 64 GB, while the 6 GB + 128 GB variant is priced at 549 Euros, and the 8 GB + 256 GB will have the price tag of 599 Euros. The smartphone is available for pre-booking in the selected market of Europe, and the smartphone will start shipping from May 25.
