It’s another day near the end of this year with the Best of 2022. Today we are going to list out 5 Best Mid-range Smartphones launched in 2022. Personally I feel this year was not that much exciting about smartphones, in any segment. Companies are just hyping up with numbers, like extra RAM, 200MP camera, 120-144Hz refresh rate, 1 Billion color display, etc.
Before getting started I would like to clear that we are considering mid-range smartphones between ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 price point. That’s because companies are now hyping smartphones more at this price. And in lesser price we are not getting the value which we used to get, not even some basic things done right. That’s why the mid-range market is now shifted at this price. So without further ado, let’s get started.
-
Motorola Edge 30:

Starting the list with the most under-appreciated brand this year, Motorola Edge 30 is a good overall package. It has Snapdragon 778G+ 5G chipset which is not a flagship, but the best mid-range chip from Qualcomm. And actually I would any day prefer a good smartphone with 778G+ chipset rather than an average smartphone with some 1 year old flagship series chipset. It is very slim and lightweight smartphone, with features like 10-bit AMOLED Display, 144Hz refresh rate, 50MP (Main) + 50MP (ultra wide) cameras, and most importantly a clean stock UI. This is the only smartphone under ₹30,000 having a clean android UI. Motorola Edge 30 is clearly an easy suggestion for me to recommend since it launched.

Redmi K50i:

We know Redmi is always known for providing smartphones in budget and mid-range segments, and now that we got a Redmi smartphone in this price range officially confirms that this is the new mid-range now. This Redmi K50i is mainly targeted towards gamers, with performance being priority. But a good gaming smartphone can always be used for regular usage. In terms of on-paper specs, this smartphone gives you the most value for your money this year. Though the camera quality on this phone is not up to the mark. Also the software future of these performance centric smartphones are not so good, means you might not get latest security patches and android updates for a long period. But still it’s a great smartphone from Redmi.
-
Poco F4:

Next in the list is a Redmi K50i with different branding, an equally or even slightly good chipset, and an AMOLED 120Hz display instead of IPS 144Hz display. The Poco F4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is an old processor now but still offers stellar performance. The display here has slightly less refresh rate, but has a lot better contrast and punchier colors. And as it comes with Qualcomm chipset instead of MediaTek, custom ROM users will get attracted to this device anyday. Probably the best they can get under ₹30,000 this year. And the reason why it’s not above Redmi K50i is because of the price difference. But still it is a good value smartphone.
-
Samsung Galaxy M53:

This is the only smartphone from tier 1 brand which could make into this list. The Samsung Galaxy M53 is a complete smartphone from a top brand, ticking almost every check box. It has a beautiful in-house AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 900 chipset, 108MP Camera, and OneUI for a good user experience. The built quality seems like a ₹15,000 smartphone, but it’s not at all bad. The only major issue with this device is not providing charger into the box. Right now it’s a trend of flagship smartphone, but Samsung is trying to bring this into mid-range as well which seems bad. But hopefully the China based OEMs like Xiaomi, Motorola, OnePlus are not adopting this trend. Finally, for those who likes to spend on good brands, this Galaxy M53 is a value for them.
-
OnePlus Nord 2T:

Few years back this price range was dominated by OnePlus (we really miss those days). But now the scenario is completely different. OnePlus is now far away from providing great value, instead the experience sometimes feels a bit overpriced. The OnePlus Nord 2T is the only good smartphone we have seen this year, but that too is not a proper successor of Nord 2. It has a slightly upgraded Dimensity 1300 chipset, with remaining specs same as the predecessor. We already know that the software is all about being Color OS from inside with a skin of Oxygen OS. Just hoping for something great from OnePlus Nord 3 without price hike.
