BlackBerry has announced that they have joined hands with Indian based- Optiemus. With this partnership, the company will allow to make and sell Android powered devices India. The device will come with the brand name of BlackBerry, and also with the BlackBerry’s software and services.
BlackBerry and Optiemus partnership will not work in India, the Optiemus will also sell its BlackBerry branded Android devices across the Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Under the terms of agreement, BlackBerry will license security software and services to the new partner and will also give regular Android security updates.
The financial terms of the agreement were not revealed, and also there is no words on when will Optiemus launch first device with brand name of BlackBerry.
BlackBerry already has similar agreement with the TCL Communication, which allows the company to make and sell devices with BlackBerry brand name, all over the world. But in Indonesia a called PT BB Merah Putih, makes and sell devices across the country.
