Disney Plus Hotstar is a very popular online streaming platform and if you are not a regular follower then Disney purchased Hotstar a few years ago. Now we have a new piece of information that says Disney is planning to sell Hotstar and its Indian assets.
It was recently said that Disney is struggling in India and now we have a new piece of information that says the company is in discussion with Gautam Adani and Kalanithni Maran to sell all of its Indian assets. Adani and Maran both have significant market share in the media industry with ownerships of AMG Media and Sun TV respectively.
Having said that, the company was also said to talk with Mukesh Ambani last month as well. There is no official confirmation about the final deal at the moment of time.
It is worth mentioning that Disney has two major businesses in the market of India and the first is the OTT platform which is the Disney Plus Hotstar while the second part of Disney business comes in the TV market where the company runs over 70 channels in the country.
