Last week, we updated that the Mountain View company Google is gearing to launch its two smart speakers, which are Google Home and Google Home Mini in India. Well, today the company has launched both the smart speakers in India at an event, which held in the capital of the country i.e. New Delhi. So, let’s dive into the article to know the pricing and availability of both the Google Assistant powered smart speakers.
Google Home
The Google Home is larger of the two smart speakers, and it was unveiled in October 2016 along with the first generation of Google Pixel and products by Google at the Made by Google event. It sports a touch surface on the top which can be used to control playback, volume and also to activate the Google Assistant. it also has a mic which offers far-field voice recognition and it identifies different voices with a feature called Voice Match Technology. Button to mute the mic and power status lights are placed on the back side and top panel has the light which changes its pattern and colour according to its task.
The device will control devices of your home, just ask to play a video from YouTube on your Chromecast the device will automatically search and find out the video which you asked and it will connect it to your Google cast enabled device and start playing the video.
Speaking about the connectivity, it offers just dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and the speaker can only be used as a Wi-Fi connected speaker with no Bluetooth. It requires to be connected to the wall socket and comes with an AC power adapter. It supports all the audio formats, and it also supports Chromecast, which will allow users to stream movies, shows, and music onto their connected TVs or Google Cast speakers. In terms of compatibility, it supports Android 4.4 KitKat or above, and iOS 9.1 or above.

The Google Home Mini is much smaller than the original Google Home, but the device can able to function all the functionalities of the Google Home. You will able to command the device with your voice, as the Google Assistant is kept inside of it. The Home Mini has four LED’s on top of it, which will indicate you when it is a trigger or when the device is thinking.
