Confirming the leaks and rumours Honor, the subbrand of Huawei has launched its latest line of flagship devices, the Honor 30 Series. The lineup consists of three methods – Honor 30, 30 Pro and 30 Pro+.
These three devices come with quite a few specs shared between all three and the company has launched them with very competitive pricing.
A 4,000 mAh battery powers these phones. All three devices come with 40W fast charger in the box, while the Pro+ has up to 40W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging support.
Honor 30 Pro and Pro+
Both Honor 30 Pro and Pro+ comes with a 6.57-inch Full HD+ OLED waterfall display, with a curved screen of 70 degrees. The screen has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The Pro+ model comes with a faster 90 Hz refresh rate whereas the Honor 30 Pro screen maxes out at 60 Hz.
Both devices are powered by the powerful HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G chipset from Huawei. The graphic tasks are handled by the Mai-G76MP16 GPU. These phones come with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage space, further expandable up to 256 GB via the Huawei’s own Nano-Memory cards.
The Honor 30 Pro+ has a primary camera of 50 MP resolution with Sony IMX700 RYYB sensor with 1.22 micro-size pixels and f/1.9 aperture. While the Honor 30 Pro has a primary camera with a 40 MP Sony IMX600 sensor with f/1.8 aperture.
Rest of the triple camera setup across both the phones are identical. There is a 16 MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture. Then there is an 8 MP periscope camera with f/3.4 aperture. The camera has the support of up to 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom.
The rear camera can record 4K videos. It can also record slow-motion at 960 FPS in 1080P. A 32 MP camera clicks the selfies with f/2.0 aperture and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
The Honor 30 Pro+ is available in Midnight Black, Green and Titanium Silver. The Honor 30 Pro is available in an additional colour of Neon Purple as well.
Both phones run on Magic UI 3.1 based on Android 10
The two phones have a 4,000 mAh battery supported by 40W wired charging. The SuperCharge Fast Charger is supplied in the box. In addition, the Honor 30 Pro+ supports 27W Wired charging and reverse wireless charging.
The Pro series comes equipped with VC liquid cooling system to prevent rising of temperature and throttling in performance during a prolonged gaming session and similar usage
Extra features include In-display fingerprint sensor and IP54 water and dust resistance. Connectivity-wise it supports 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, NavIC, NFC and has USB Type-C for charging and data storage.
Honor 30
The Honor 30 comes with a different panel of 6.53-inch AMOLED panel and a Full-HD+ resolution. The screen has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and the refresh rate is set at 60 Hz.
It is powered by the slightly less powerful HiSilicon Kirin 985 5G chipset from Huawei. The graphic tasks are handled by the Mai-G77 GPU. Honor 30 comes with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. The user can choose between 128 GB or 256 GB of storage space, further expandable up to 256 GB via the Huawei’s own Nano-Memory cards.
The Honor 30 has a quad-rear camera setup. The primary camera is a 40 MP Sony IMX600 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It supports Optical Image Stabilization as well. There are two sets of cameras with 8-megapixel resolution with f/2.4 and f/3.4 aperture respectively. The former is an ultra wide angle camera and the later is a periscope telephoto camera with OIS, 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom. Lastly, the phone has a 2-MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The single punch-hole on the phone houses a 32 MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 aperture.
Honor 30 software is based on the company’s Magic UI 3.1 build on top of Android 10.

Pricing & Availability
Honor 30 pricing start at 2,999 yuan for the 6GB + 128 GB variant while the 8GB + 128 GB variant is priced at 3,199 Yuan, and the high-end 8GB + 256 GB variant is priced at 3,499 Yuan. Coming to the Honor 30 Pro, the 8GB + 128 GB variant is priced at 3,99 Yuan, its 8GB + 256 GB variant will cost 4,399 Yuan. Finally, the Honor 30 Pro+ will available for 4,999 yuan for the 8GB + 256 GB variant and the 12 GB + 256 GB version is priced at 5,499 Yuan. The per-order of the devices in China starts from 21st April.
