We are merely 4 days ago from the unveiling of Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, and the leaks and rumours aren’t stopping. In the leaks we have seen the design of both the phones. But those are only rendered designs, today we have something more solid. We have some leaked live photos of screen protectors of both Pixels 2 and Pixel 2 XL. So let’s have a look.
Earlier we got some rumours which suggests that the Pixel 2 XL will have near bezel-less design, while the smaller Pixel 2 will retain the same thick bezel design. Now as you can see from the images above & below, you will notice that those rumours are true. The less bezel protector has bigger display area as compared to the thick bezel protector. The display of bezel-less protector clearly looks like a 6 inch or near 6 inch display. Talking about the placements. The bezel-less protector has 3 transparent areas on the top, first for front camera, second for proximity sensor, and third for LED notification light (most probably). There’s a cut-out on the top for earpiece. On the bottom there’s just a cut-out for speaker, which means that this Pixel will also retain the front facing speaker (might be stereo one).
Talking about the smaller Pixel 2, it has some very thick bezels, especially on the top & bottom. On the top there are three transparent areas, 1st for front camera (which seems larger as compared to Pixel 2 XL), 2nd for earpiece/speaker, and 3rd for LED notification light. On the bottom there’s just the speaker space, rest of the space is just a wastage. They can easily make the bezels thinner from the bottom. Also looking at the sides of the protector, it seems like this Pixel 2 will also don’t have 2.5D glass.
