Netflix has confirmed that Spatial Audio is supported on both the iPhone and iPod, but you need AirPods Max or AirPods Pro headphones to use. That means , if you have a Netflix subscription and AirPods, you can dial in the audio feature from the iOS Control Centre. News of the new support for spatial audio on the iPhone and iPad was first reported on social media platforms.
Once you qualify for the feature, you can enjoy a Netflix content audio experience that delivers great sound effects. Apple states that spatial audio creates a movie theater-like experience that utilizes the gyroscope and accelerometer available on the iPod, iPhone and AirPods.
To use the Spatial Audio feature, make sure the device is running iOS 14.It will also come in the upcoming iOS 15 update for content without Dolby Atoms. In the future, Apple plans to provide spatial audio support for MacOS and TVOS.
Some popular apps like Disney +, HBO Max and Peacock already have spatial audio support. However, there are several platforms that do not support spatial audio, including YouTube and Amazon Prime Video.
