Back in last month, the Nokia owned HMD Global unveiled Nokia 1 Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone, along with four other devices at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event. And now the company has launched the Nokia 1 Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone in the Indian market. Earlier it was said that the device will be launched in the country by next month, but the company surprised everyone by launching the device today.
It sports a 4.5 inch IPS LCD display with the resolution of 480 × 854. It is powered by MediaTek MT6737M quad core processor, and paired with 1 GB (which is maximum for Android Go devices) of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage and can be expandable upto 128 GB via MicroSD Card. The rear camera on this device is 5 MP shooter with LED flash and 2 MP front camera. This phone has 2150mAh of battery capacity which is good for this low-end device. Regarding the connectivity, it support dual SIM with 4G LTE.
It runs on latest Android Go 8.0 Oreo which gives the device a smoother experience running this much low-end specs. Google has already released several apps that are compatible with Android Go. For example YouTube, Google has released YouTube Go in which we can’t play videos higher than 480p to save data. There are several other Google Go apps, even Google Assistant is present. So no worries in terms of basic Google experience.
In terms of colour choices, the device will be available in Warm Red and Dark Blue – and, HMD Global has also launched the hot-swappable Xpress-on covers which you need to buy and available in Azure and Grey colours or Yellow and Pink colours. Speaking about the pricing and availability of the device, it is priced at ₹5,499 and the Xpress-on cover will be yours for ₹540. And the device will go on sale from March 28, the Xpress-on cover to be available from April.
The device is also coming with lots of offers, as you will get ₹2,200 cashback from Reliance Jio and users of Reliance Jio will get an additional 60 GB 4G data with the device. Moreover, you will also get 12 months of accidental damage insurance by opening Kotak 811 saving accounts and activating it in the introductory period with the starting deposit of ₹1,000, and also users will get 20% discount on the first ride on redBus.
